Gimme a Break!

10 February 2012

The last couple of days I have been talking about my heart disease experiences and I was going to publish today's post on 2003, the year I had a few heart attacks and eventually wound up undergoing a six vessel bypass. I’m going to hold off on that for a day or two. Surprisingly, I find my memory of those events to be a little sketchy. Not surprisingly, I find that I am being a tad loquacious in my description of those events. I want to talk about them as they were certainly life changing. And I want to do so in detail. I want to describe it all, how it felt before, during and after. I want to describe the testing and procedures and I want to describe the drugs given to me. All aspects of it so that people that may be experiencing this now can get an insight and if you are unfortunate enough to have to go through this, maybe knowing what I went through, maybe it will help. But I want to make sure I have my facts straight and my memories properly organized.

So today I just want to say “Happy Friday!” to everyone. I wake early this morning to the sound of a slow steady rain and as the sun begins to lighten the sky, I see it’ll be cloudy today, at least for now. It is a mild winter and I believe we are already experiencing spring here in South Central Texas. I have a cup of freshly ground Sumatran coffee in my hand and my Pandora is currently pumping out some “Bad Company.”  It is mornings like this that bring me a sense of thankfulness and appreciation. Despite the bad things in life, I still can, from time to time, find something to be thankful for. I consider it a blessing that on a cool early spring Texas morning, I can find positivity. And that makes my day. I consider it a gift from God that has blessed me throughout my life and I sometimes forget it, can’t see it or don’t want to see it. But it always comes back to me and reminds me of who I really am.

Despite all things I know that I am a positive person. I am a good and caring person. And I know that God knows it too, even with my failings. And that’s all that really matters to me. And with that I wish all a great and happy weekend. I’m going to spend the remainder of this morning listening to my Native American music (I’ve switched my Pandora channel) and I am going to praise God and be thankful that I am alive. I am going to rejoice and be glad in it!

Have a Blessed Day Ya’ll!

Today's “Did Ya Know?” Its National Umbrella Day”!!!!  We are having a perfect morning here to break out the old bumbershoot and go for a stroll! It’s also “National Cream Cheese Brownie Day”! I’ve had some good brownies with really good stuff in it before, not so sure I ever had a cream cheese one! Sounds good though. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
